Yogi Adityanath 2.0 Ministry Expanded: 2 Cabinet Ministers, 4 MoS Inducted

In a politically significant move ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections due early next year , the Yogi Adityanath 2.0 government on Sunday carried out its second cabinet expansion , inducting new ministers and reshaping key responsibilities.

The reshuffle saw the induction of two cabinet ministers and four ministers of state , while two existing ministers of state were elevated with independent charge , signaling a strategic effort to strengthen governance and organisational balance.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at Jan Bhavan , where Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers.

Among the key inductions, former BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary and SP rebel leader Manoj Pandey were sworn in as cabinet ministers , reflecting a mix of organisational leadership and political realignment.

In the ministers of state category, four new faces joined the council: Krishna Paswan, Surendra Diler, Hansraj Vishwakarma, and Kailash Rajput.

Meanwhile, ministers of state Ajit Pal Singh and Somendra Tomar were promoted and given independent charge , expanding their administrative roles and responsibilities.

This marks the second expansion of the Yogi 2.0 ministry , following the first in March 2024, which came nearly two years after the formation of the government. That earlier reshuffle had included several alliance partners and returning leaders such as SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar, RLD’s Anil Kumar, BJP leader Sunil Kumar Sharma, and former SP leader Dara Singh Chauhan, who had rejoined the BJP.

The latest expansion is being seen as a pre-election political recalibration , aimed at strengthening both administrative reach and electoral positioning ahead of the crucial contest next year.
