
Welfare Is the Path, Development Is the Goal Says Minister Atchannaidu
Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu on Sunday said that the coalition government in the state has been working with the sole objective of ensuring the welfare of the poor over the past 23 months . He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu , welfare schemes were reaching every eligible beneficiary in the state.
The minister said the government had not merely made promises but had achieved record-level successes through its actions.
Highlighting the government’s welfare initiatives, Atchannaidu said the NTR Bharosa pensions scheme was among the most significant programmes being implemented. He stated that nearly Rs 63,000 crore had so far been directly transferred to beneficiaries and added that the scheme had brought hope and support to lakhs of elderly people, widows, and persons with disabilities.
He further said that, with the aim of ensuring that no one goes hungry, the government had so far served affordable and quality meals to nearly 9.15 crore people through Anna Canteens .
Atchannaidu said the government had not neglected people dependent on traditional occupations for their livelihood. He stated that financial assistance of Rs 250 crore had been extended to fishermen who venture into the sea for fishing activities.
He also noted that for the welfare of auto drivers, who work tirelessly to support their families, the government had provided benefits worth Rs 436 crore to around 2.90 lakh beneficiaries . According to the minister, these initiatives had helped bring financial stability to their households.
The minister said the government was moving rapidly towards fulfilling the dream of providing every poor family with a permanent house. He stated that 5.5 lakh houses had already been completed and handed over to beneficiaries, while construction of another 5 lakh houses was in the final stage.
In addition, Atchannaidu said the government, through the innovative P4 Model , was transforming nearly 2 lakh families into “golden families” and helping them permanently overcome poverty.
He reiterated that the welfare and upliftment of all sections of society remained the government’s primary objective.
